What are the dimensions of the luggage area in the Mercedes-Benz A-Class? We are flying into LHR Friday to attend our son and daughter-in-law's graduations at Oxford and we have reserved two A-Class cars.

Cheers,

Hello.

Not too sure of the exact dimensions, but my brother just about managed to get a few bags in when he was returning from university.

You may manage it with two cars!

All the best,

Mike.

I've just checked and it's approx;

Width 20"
Depth 23"
Height 26"

You can add about another 15" in height if the rear parcel shelf is rolled up. But remember that the space tapers toward the roof due to the rake on the rear seats and headrests.

Enjoy your trip to the UK.

Mark/London :)

Thanks very much for the measurements. I'm surprised with the width of only 20". Is there a spare tire or fuel tank that uses the remaining width?

Robby,

Ooops, that what happens when I try and be cleaver by giving the dimensions in inches rather than Euro millimetres!

I should have put;

Width 40" across the base (47" at parcel shelf height)
Depth 23"
Height 20" to parcel self (add another 15" with the parcel shelf rolled up)

I hope this makes more sense!

Thanks for the update. The additional inches makes it about the size of flat area of the boot in my lowered, lightened, shortened and widen 190E 2.3-16. We'll do fine.

I appreciate everyones help with my question. The A-Class is not available on our side of the pond, and my son and I are looking forward to seeing and driving this new baby-Benz.

In April I'll be visiting the Daimler-Chrysler AG hydrogen fuel technology center in Sacramento, California. While there I'll have the opportunity to drive their NECAR (new electric car) which uses hydrogen to fuel the A-Class.

Cheers,

Robby
