I have a W210 240 in with me at the moment, Ive noticed the engine has a lot of hard crusty oil in the filler neck and breathers and inside the rocker covers, there is an issue with the car which I think is related, lack of power high oil consumption and white, blueish smoke on hard acceleration.

I assume there maybe other oilways that are affected and one that requires the gearbox to be removed to resolve.

I want to use an engine flush but I know its not always recommend and I personally wouldnt use one unless it was an extreme case like this.

I did use to use Diesel on old Range rovers and it was very good, can anyone suggest a product for flush engine oil or cleaning the internals of an engine please.

Probably not going to help but I don't really see why you shouldn't run some engine flush through it? I ran those stuff through the engine for 5mins on idle a year or so ago and the car has had no problem.. I've heard the flush takes away some of the protective coating on the internals but I guess in an extreme case like yours, it would be more important to clean out the gunk?

Cheers

Many garages use diesel ,its effective and could free up the rings if they are caked up,,I would keep doing short start ups so that it can soak in with the first one the night befor

Agreed, when i was younger we used to put half a ltr of derv in and run it down a motorway for 20 miles, that used to clean them out!!!!

Forte diesel injector cleaner is the racing dogs wotsits! It'll even get Discoveries through the emmisions test.
I used to be reluctant to use oil flushers too,but after several years of using the Comma product I now have no qualms about it.
Should not really be necessary if the car is routinely serviced with the quality of modern oils, but some people cannot be educated.
