Anyone know the best way to clean the headlining?
Its the fabric mesh type on the 211 and in places it's looking a bit grubby, especially the sun visors which are covered in the same fabric.
I'm scared to attack it as, being bright white originally, I could make it worse really easily or else wet it and make it saggy. I've considered calling professionals in but can't afford it at the moment.
Anyone had any diy success?
suggestions?

I did see an post on Detailing World some time back with guidance and product recomendations, you could do a trawl there or failing that check out some of the the US detailing forums such as Meguires.

I cleaned my Saab headlining in small sections with a non foaming cleaner from Kleeeze used a wet and dry vac to suck out the dirty residual water/moisture then moved on. You are right about wetting it too much it will sag if you do and of course stretch.

I bought some new sun visors (with the lights in them) from a scrap yard though new they were grubby as they had been handled with greasy oily hands and I used Vanish in a spray bottle with a nail brush and they came up like new, my visors incidently are made from the same material as my headlining.

I dread to think how you got mud on the headlining. And as for the "other" things

The mud is OK and comes off with ease,,its when the heels go through the lining that is the expensive bit

I have enjoyed today, to end with this one is priceless, me I always asked them politely if they would take the hi-heels off and push them under the back of the front seats to ensure the seats did not fall back at an inopportune moment:shock:
