Hello everyone

I've got an '02 E320 cdi, 90K miles, and it's started getting very lumpy (most times) at tickover. Engine appears smooth under normal driving conditions, but fuel economy seems to have dropped a little.

It did this about a year ago and I used fuel additive a number of times and this appeared to clear things, but it's back again now.

Anyone got any ideas or know any additives that work well on this type of engine?

many thanks to all.

treatment

Redex injector cleaner has worked well for me in the past. When using additives, be careful not to put fuel system cleaner in, as this does the whole system and has been known to dislodge a whole lot of muck from the system.

cheers

at 90,000 miles i would have the inj. noz. resurfaced, this will optimise the spray patterns, i improved my mpg by 10%, go to a diesel specialist, not a mb main dealer. as malcolm said ( televisionman ) you could have the start of maf problems, but it will pay you to improve your inj, at your mileage. look at my postings on how to resolve maf problems. hope you find this usefull. herbiemercman.
