Hi and welcome Barrie.

Give MB Grangemouth a call, they’re forum supporters and usually highly competitive even against the likes of ECP.

Make sure to tell them you’re on the forum, and your user name. You’ll get a discount.

Lipped but not worn out... so why are you changing them?

They mention the lip to up-sell, helps with their bonus...

Exactly , get them measured and find out what the min/max thickness is to compare .
I was told by MB that my front discs were getting worn and advised replacement at 40k , fast forward a few years and mot’s , i changed them myself at 100k

Mercedes Edinburgh told me my rear pads needed to be changed 2 years ago and I declined their offer at £228, I changed them last week even though the low pad warning light has still never came on, 16,000 miles later!

When Mercedes told me similar on my W211 I queried their assumption. They said as the warning light could come on before my next service they were saving me a trip to get them changed in between services... so nice of them to think of me

I had a similar conversation when a local dealer said my front discs & pads needed changing within a 1000 miles of buying the car from a different dealer. Funny how the selling dealer said one thing while the other dealer said different. I (local indie) changed just the pads a year later.

Thanks for this advice...

I am after some service bits and brakes for two older C Class...

Do I just call and quote MBO forum?

They then post out do they?

What level of discount do they offer?

I was just planning to buy OEM from ECP to be honest.

Yep , phone them , they post for £5 ish . I normally price up from ECP/Autodoc first so I can compare what MB prices are
