Hello, been a while since I've made a post, so long in fact that the site made me re-register!!!

Anyway.....

I saw in Halfords the other day a DIY Air Conditioning Re-Gas kit, it has all the lube, gas, pressure gauge and other stuff in it.

Question is, has anybody tried using it? what were the results?

I prefer doing all the the car Diy stuff myself so this seemed like the ideal bit of kit, seeing as my air con is cool rather than cold!

Any info or advice is welcome,

Look forward to your replies,

Kris

Best pay someone to do it, you need to evacuate all moisture from the system, I don't think the DIY kits will do that for you.

Re-gas

Thanks for you're replies,

I'll have a look at previous posts.

I was thinking the same my self, about getting it done by a pro, the guy I spoke to 'said' that he'd remove all the old stuff, clean the system and leak check, lube and refill, all for £60, which seems cheap to me, even MB 'only' wanted £80 plus VAT.

The kit from Halfords is £40 and its a top up not a re-gas.

More research, but swaying to the 'Pro'.

Cheers again,

Kris.

I saw the Halfords ad which was 40 quid or 50 if they did it for you. Fortunately the only guy trained to do it was on his day off so I left & remembered that Kwik Fit were now doing aircon. For 45 quid they did a proper job, tested for leaks, and the print out showed min temp 14 degrees before, 5 degrees after, well pleased
