Do i have an OVP relay?

on my 1995 e280 estate(w124),it doesn't start well from cold but once it does it will start again all day no problem,i had a look around the battery but i cant see the relay described in other threads,should i have afore mentioned relay fitted to my model?if so where is it located?

not sure. but if you do it's at the battery just remove the black plastic panel 2953601451_768c73e802[1].jpg

seen a "black box" in that position,i will have a look tomorrow,fantastic reply ,many thanks


When the car catches and fires up the ABS lamp on the instument panel lights for a second,is that normal?(only on first start)

There is a small delay before the ABS lamp goes out as the engine switches from the battery to the alternator.

The last of these cars 1995 have a 7 or 9 pin relay and thse have more circuits than the older 5 pin versions.

You could always measure the voltage on pin 30 of the engine ECU and that should be at the battery voltage, and the 13.8 volt when running
