Do I need to change my cam magnets

I fitted cam magnet blocking leads today. There was a little bit of oil on the outside of one connector and the other was almost dry. There was no oil inside the connectors and there seemed to be no oil on the leads. However there was some oil on the block just below the cam magnets. I know that I will have to replace them, but my question is how soon should that be?
