...I know I will celebrate a result like this on the R230. Touch wood.

The testers are decent where I go. They don't seem to be the type to pump in silly advisories which is nice.

Especially when the car goes in like this

Don't worry, i'm not driving the car like this - the test centre is .9 miles away and I probably didn't go over 20 mph..

A pass is a pass. I'm sure you're happy & a little surprised. Your car isn't looking its best just now but it's sound. It'll be wearing its new frock before you take it to Ireland, I imagine.

My C215 never, ever passes an MOT test the first time around. It requires several Standard Cost Payments to get through*.
(*as it’s a 500, these equal £500 each. It’s easier to think in terms of costing 1,2 or 3 SCPs...)

I’d have failed it on the rusty exhaust bracket lol.

Always interesting to a see a car undressed so as to speak the rear muffler heat shields look impressive

IMG_0115.JPG I celebrated with a spirited drive through the countryside after getting this 22 year old car through its MoT today.

Great to have it back on the road for summer.

I just wanted to test it to see if anything would fail.. Because MOT expires while I am in Ireland, which will invalidate breakdown cover.

I wanted time to get repairs organised while in body shop. Car is in body shop now getting a good seeing to :)

I am pleased when it passes as its saves the hassle of going to the test centre again and getting it retested again.
I am not overly concerned if there is a fail either as things can be rectified.

This exactly. I use Mot guys who can rectify any problem there and then, though so a revisit isn't necessary. I'm glad that my 60 year old stuff doesn't need an MOT, but they are much more robust and easy to maintain.
