Does an open soft top stop engine starting clk w209 ? - my roof hasn’t quite fully closed and I wanted to move the car but the engine does not turnover - is this normal pls ?

Shouldn’t do, I can start my SLK no matter where the roof is. Check the battery first

I doubt it; as Blobcat says ensure battery is 100% in the first instance.

Yes, battery too low - 10 hour charge at 6 amps to refil it. Thanks both.
I manually closed the soft top - I’ve now done a manual open and close - good practice
Now I need to Reset the soft top - saw it in the manual but can’t find it again - remove the soft top fuse, put it back and then ???? something with the soft top switch ???
