Does anyone know if the glow plugs can be tested with xentry?

Hi guys as above, I think there I's a problem with my glow plugs on my 2014 e350, whenever I start the car I always have to leave the ignition on for around 5-10seconds or more to heat the plugs, even in the summer months after using the car, it's literally everytime, if I just try to start straight off turning the key it cranks over a million times and is awkward to start. I just wanted to see if there was a glow plug at fault here and if so which one, the fueling is also dia as well.

Not sure If there an option to check with xentry software or not?

A 'quick test' within Xentry will indicate which, if any, glowplugs are faulty.

Why not just measure them with a multimeter?

Hi, I haven't got a multimeter, well a decent one anyway, ive got xentry, but couldn't find the option to test them until last night when I had a good look around, I found the option to do a glow diagnosis test, and it came back that everything is working fine, but didn't give me any readings to say what the ohms was or ment to be. So now I don't know what the problem could be why it doesn't start straight off the key.

I did manage to find the glow diagnosis under the actuator field, and strangely it didn't pick any faults up

See what your fuel pressure is when that long crank happens. Most likely fueling problem.

Hi, are you indicating it could be fuel pump pressure related? What pressure does it need to be when cranking?

over 150bar

Usually it is injector leak, next fuel quantity control valve, then pressure control valve, and finally pump itself.

If u have xentry u shu d e able to see any fault codes incl those linked to fuel pressures does it have crank, cam sensor. Look readings for those as well.

rail pressure during cranking is not not triggering fault code. But if you go 'customer complaints' or guided check list 'engine does not start', you will get instructions....

You might expect fuel pressure while cranking to be 150 bar+.
If it doesn't reach its threshold the ECU will inhibit the start.

Excessive leak off can cause that.
