does c250d autobox fit 190 25d

hi i have a190 2.5d 1992 auto gearbox has gone faulty. I can get a box from a c250d does anyone know if it is a straight fit or if not is there many changes to make

I know that the last of the 124s were 5 speed or it was available as an extra, but I do not know about the 190

AFAIK the 5-speed auto from a C250 is electronically controlled and won't easily work in a W124 or 190

Almost any box from a W124 or 190 should fit but search around and try to find one with the matching part number. It will make life easier
