Does my 08 Vito have cruise control?

First timer. May sound silly, but doing a camper conversion on a vito and there is a cruise control/speed limiter stalk. When I push it in, no indicator comes up on the display for either cruise or limiter, and when driving nothing happens.
Is it possible that it's factory standard to make all vitos with the stalk but that doesn't mean that my van has it as an option?
Also, been through several fuse diagrams and can't find one with cruise control anywhere.
Any help appreciated.

Only the Vito left! W639/1 OM646
They don't come as standard on all Vitos.

It's proabably one of two things...
1. It's faulty, for whatever reason.
2. Someone has added it (the stalk) later and not coded it in. (Fairly easy DIY job if you have access to Star.)

Either way, you're probably going to need to connect it to Star to find out what's going on.

Do you know how the Cruise Control/Variable speed limiter lever works?

I ask because I did not appreciate that that stalk was 2 functions, both Cruise Control and Variable Speedtronic (Speed Limiter) until after several months of ownership.

Pushing in on the end of the stalk should give a LIM indicator light for the Speed limiter function. Only one or other function can be used at one time. The cruise control operates when the LIM light is off. Both only work from 20 mph/30 km/hr upwards. I am unfamiliar with the Vito, but I get a message in the lower half of the centre screen between the speedo and rev counter on my S203 (C Class estate) To indicate either the cruise control speed or the speed limit set.

The stalk has four directions, up, down, forward and backwards.

Upwards is used to store the current speed or a higher speed rounded up to the next multiple of 5mph

Downwards to store the current speed or a lower speed in the same 5mph increments

Forwards is used to resume the variable speed limit last stored (memory is erased when key is switched off)

Backwards is to deactivate the variable speed limiter

as stated previously pushing the end of the stalk switches between cruise control and variable speed limiter

Hope this helps and you get it sorted. I rarely use cruise control, but use variable speed limiter a lot especially with all speed cameras and speed averaging cameras about. Once set it allows you to concentrate fully on other road users.

Thanks All. No LIM light comes on when I push the stalk. I still can't find anywhere that states where the fuse is for it.

I missed that.
If there are issues with wheel sensors the cruise is disabled, but you would expect a dash alarm. Do all lights illuminate when the ignition is turned, before firing up?
I imagine the foot pedal brake switch could be a possible, a common failure. If you attempt that be aware there are 2v types of switch, essentially the pin is different lengths.

Other issues could disable cruise. Likely you'll need a diagnostics session to identify.

I haven't run this, but feasibly diagnostics might recognise the stalk actions, to eliminate or hi lite.

Thanks Martin. No, no dash alarms or anything. It looks as though all lights turn on at ignition. Will get it serviced and diagnostics run. Cheers.

Note that if you push the stalk up or down so that a click isn't felt you can change the speed in 1mph increments. The feel is much the same as when using the indicators to do their automatic 3 flashes.
