As it says in the title, was wondering if anyone knew off hand weather the e class 3.2 has an LSD. I could find out myself by jacking one side up but i can't be bothered. Thanks..

I doubt it, because all the traction aids used by Mercedes after the LSD and ASD used on 201 and 124 cars were of the electronic variety ie. ASR (anti slip regulation) where the throttle pedal is connected to throttle only by wires (no cable).

ASR uses a combination of "throttle back" and brake application to stop the rear wheels starting to spin. It is a further advance on the ABS brake system.

If your car has ASR you will have a triangle in your speedo which lights up when the ASR is being applied, ie. when you are driving off at a rate which will induce wheel spin.

I would have thought you probably have got that.

Later came the ESP which helps not only spinning rear wheels, but also sideways slides, (front or back of car sliding on a bend) and the brakes are selectively applied and throttle reduced as appropriate.
