Does the paint warranty only apply if you have a full Mercedes benze Service History?

I have an XReg S320 long wheelbase. There is severe rust on all 4 wheel arches which has been there for well only a year. I only found out recently there is a paint warranty. I have owned the car since 2004 and it has only done 56,000. My only concern is not all services have been carried out but the merc dealship however the majority have. Does anyone know if this will affect my claim?

mine had to be full merc history and they done it as a good will gesture so they

They will use the non Mb servicing issue to try and dissuade you from claiming, Go along to your Mb dealer and insist that they, or their bodyshop estimator/foreman write up a report and take pics of the condition of your car.
Even if the bodyshop guy tells you that your car is out of warranty, insist that he puts in a claim and remind him that the decision is not his.. but be nice because Mb customer service will contact him for his opinion..

I agree with Xtractorfan. My W210 has had multiple visits to the bodyshop under the MB warranty scheme. In 5 years of ownership have never had it serviced at a main dealer. They don't care so long as it's under 8 years old they will repair it for free. Don't be put off by anyone at the dealership. There will be someone there whose job it is to put your claim forward. Find that person and take it from there. In my experience you won't have to push too hard, if at all.
My recent repair work was done outside of the 8 year period and MB still paid for half - I think that's because I made a good case that the rust was on panels that they had previously repaired.
