I just replaced the conductor plate in my W221 with a virginized used one, and I am getting:
  • 2725 The internal electrical check of component Y3/8y6 (B2 brake control solenoid valve VGS) has failed
That wasn't there before the plate was replace so I'm wondering if they send me a defective one.

Have you re checked all Yr connections then noted and cleared that code? Does it come straight back? Where did you get the conductor plate?

I swapped solenoids and the same code came back, so the Ebay seller is sending out a replacement conductor plate. Will see how it works.

Think that's likely ur issue. Be very careful not to introduce another issue whilst doing that.

WIS is workshop manual - how to diagnose, repair, replace.
STAR (xentry is the diags) that will point to WIS.

WIS doesn't have much diagnostic information, it's more procedures for removal / fitting.

Xentry / DAS (depending on the model) has step-by-step diagnostic routines - "test X, result should be Y. Is result ok? (Y/N)" and so on until it tells you to "replace Z".

They basically lead you through a logical diagnostic tree for that particular symptom / code which includes any other systems that might be affecting things - which might not be immediately obvious given the huge number of controllers involved.

You can also run quite a lot of those diagnostics in "simulation" mode without actually connecting to the car where they involve measurements like voltages or checking connectors which don't need a live connection.
