Couldn't agree more Russ. The fragrant councillors who clearly think that this is smart "outside the box" thinking do not seem to have considered their legal position.

I would be astonished if various Highways Acts, not to mention local ordnances placed a duty on them to provide a "safe carriageway, free from encumbrance".

Certainly "safe access to and from the place of work" is a duty in health and safety law and if you trip in the company car park or footways you would have a cause for action.

Surely we must enjoy similar protection on the Queen's Highway? What would One think?

I'm just amazed that someone could even come up with such an irresponsible idea!
Pathetic and very dangerous. Motor vehicles should be allowed to proceed in a safe manner up to the posted speed limit without having to navigate around unmarked hazards in the road!

It seems the Parish Council & the County Council have different views on how to manage pot holes. Personally, I think the guy from the Parish Council should be made to resign as he has shown himself to be no more than an idiot.

On that basis Russ we should expect a mass exodus of nimby minded paltry Parish Councilor's who play politics with big boy's toys

I would agree, have a close relative who needs Social services, well actually carers. Carer's on holiday every other week. Social services also covers orphans and druggies and the like.

Problems are the council directors, and all the quangoes. Councillors per se' dont actually get much of a say or the pay.
