Door handles:Mercedes S class W220 2004 Model

Would any members know if it’s possible to change just the Chrome trims,around the outside door handles as the centre is colour coded and perfect!
Some of mine have started to peel / Bubble up?
Don’t want to spend fortunes on replacing complete assemblies.

I think their all one piece, you could try wrapping them but won’t look quite the same

As with most cars I think you will have to remove the door card which may have air bags.

good point re the bags. Yes they do have air bags.

been looking at the same issue on my w220. I was wondering about some chrome type paint then a laquer on top. Just thinking aloud.

No. They’re all one piece. The grip may come out if the scallop assembly but it’s a right pain in the bum to do and even more fiddly to reassemble.

Nope. If they could then the car would be vulnerable to theft and no one ever accused the W220 of being easy to steal.

Yes that’s very true!
But you’ve got to open the door first.. then remove the the rubber gasket,then put a long torax key to loosen the holding screw!
