Hi

Hope someone can help. Bought an old style 2002 reg 320 cdi Avantgarde estate yesterday but cannot find anyway to bend in the door mirrors to go into my garage. Will they have the facility to park electronically or do I have to move them in manually? There's no switch on the dashboard to park the mirrors, only to adjust them. When I try to move them manually I meet with a lot of resistance so can only presume that I'm doing something I should't!! Hope someone can help. The handbook dosen't.

Thanks

Paul

Mine has electric folding mirrors, the switch if you have one is located next to the adjustment control behing the gearstick.

If you don't have this luxury then they like all others should just push back, might seem stiff but should go.

Good luck.

Paul,
A 2002 Avantgarde does have electric folding mirrors (switch as above). If they haven't been used since new (most haven't) , they may be a little reluctant but can be encouraged with some mucking about and a tin of WD40.

Thanks & AMG wheels?

Thanks for the replies. There is no parking switch on the dashboard for the mirrors. I have tried to manually move them but they always swing back to their normal positon. I could understand the car not having the fancy electric park facility but surely I should be able to manually position the mirrors so that they park to avoid passing traffic when parked? Bit disappointed if I can't.

The cars great though - really happy with it but am already thinking of unrating the wheels. Presently I have the 16inch type but would really love some 18 inch AMG's. I've seen them on ebay but I'm a bit puzzled why the backs are often wider than the fronts. Bit worried that they may not fit my car. Has anyone put the bigger wheels on? What do they think? Does it spoil the car? I'd do the mod more for cosmetic reasons. I'm not bothered about on the limit handling and all that stuff. I've just sold my modified Impreza and have got the speed thing out of my system. Brilliant car though but everytime I drove it I felt I had to drive it fast. Not good for the driving licence so decided to part with it before the police did. I'm now in sensible family mode but would like the car to look good! Hope someone out there can help. Cheers

nip into MB dealer on thornton road and ask them about the mirrors...they will take a look at them for you. they dont charge for looking and offering advice.....

Hope you are not a member at Greens? i think and e class parked behind me the other day.....2 mercs together

as far as the wheels go, look in your handbook. it will tell you tyre pressures for the different sizes. there should be something about CO2 emmisions in there as well and this will tell you the wheel sizes.

is it the latest e-class?

Kahns on canal road will help too....charge a fortune for new wheels but you can browse and take information etc.

Try pushing them in the opposite direction. They should stay in place. I think this is the position for sliding off the cover to replace the indicator bulbs.
