does the door mirror glass just forcibly ping off when you tilt and push a wedge down the back? that's how the 221 comes off - I guess an earlier E class is similar ?
bit late but want to swap out his broken heater element - I notice the door module takes that auto dim type too, so will see how that goes soon...
on that front - any info on calibrating the auto dim - on his 2006 E280CDI it hardly functions...
I had the same issue on a focus, but on that I put a bit of scotch tape on the front of the mirror sensor and it sprung to life and now works to utter perfection. On his car I could cover the sensor with my hand when driving - then as we reach dusk it correctly goes to night mode - so I expected that to do the job on his, but its made it even worse ???
on mine it says you put a ref number off the screen in the UCP and that "calibrates" it but I never found this on his car...
