Has anyone ever installed speekers in their door panel on a 124 without the custom pods like clk200 made for his car?

Is it possibile to fit one that may be doesn't have a sigificant mounting depth.

Sadly reverse magnet speaker are no longer made, there are 6" to 8" speaker chassis on the market with a depth of 6cm, I only found one 5" at 3cm,but no point in that. What impedence did you want, or what is the head unit.

does that mean one with equal to or less than 6cm will work? What are speaker adaptors and how are they used?

You cant buy 1Ω speakers from anyone other than MB, yours could well be 4Ω

an Ω meter will give a good indication, if you have one. If you do sort the leads on the meter together first as they are not that accurate on low Ω's , note the reading, then check and subtract the first figure. dont forget that low-bass sounds dispurse around the car, mid range sounds better in a fairly straight line and high notes only go in a straight line, so you could use the original for mid range and add a couple of little round encolsed tweeters.

The average car radio cant drive a crossover, but caps are fine in a car.
