I want to remove the door pockets on my 99 E class in order to fit speakers. Does anyone know if the door pockets can be removed without taking the whole door trim panel off? If so, how.

If not, does anyone know how to get the trim panel off without destroying it? Thought it best to ask first before I try - there is always a hidden screw somewhere!

TIA

i have had a look at the epc

the pocket is hed to the door trim with 11 screws, accessed from the back of the main door panel.

the door panel is held on with a few screws - to give you an idea, my 140 coupe is heldf with:-

several screws holding chrome trim on edge of door by door lock - 3 on top half, 5 ish on bottom half

remove cover behind mirror - pops off from top

remove SRS badge in door panel, large phillips behind it

remove small cover in door handle, large vertical screw

small cover under (50p size) handle, large screw behind.

rest of panel just pops off - get a few replacement clips - part number a 006 988 43 78 - v cheap - get half a dozen.

speaker is bolted to the door panel itself - not the cover - nor do you need to remove the pocket....

good luck patience is the key, and not too much force!
