I have to go to a wedding on saturday which I dont want to go to, now I dont wear suits anymore because I dont have too.
My question is this, I have a very expensive dark blue suit and tan brown shoes will they gotogether ok or will I look like an ar$e?
I dont have any business shirts and ties anymore so I will have to wear a casual white shirt with no tie.

Wil this be ok or do I have to spend dosh on shoes, shirt and tie?

Helen your a women, help.

I'm afraid you are way beyond any help from Helen.

Just go in a football top, jogging bottoms and dirty white 'Nike' trainers. That seems to be what most wedding guests wear these days.

Oh - and don't forget your fake 'Burberry' baseball cap (worn back-to-front, of course) for a demonstration of how 'cool' you look.

Sorry, thought you were joking :p

Buy a new pair of shoes Tan/Blue are a no-no.

No tie is the 'norm' now - so don't worry about that.

Just go and buy yourself a nice pair of black brogues, a nice shirt and a tie. Job done and a nice smart jib. You'll do your wife proud.

Oh, by the way, stop being a cheapskate.

Its a wedding, so smart. To me that means a Shirt & Tie, Suit and nice shoes.

You could always hire the stuff if your not going to use it again?

go on, scrub up, suit on and as 100% says you will make your wife proud..

OOh and you mention you don't really want to go, I'm like that sometimes a 'do's I have to go to but once there have a great time !!!

"I have to spend money on clothes for a wedding I dont want to go to"

I think if most of us blokes are honest we have all had to do that, it is however usually the wife that NEEDS a new dress, bag, shoes, hat, haircut etc etc etc ££££££

Bet you actaully enjoy it when there :)

Be thankful you are a man and only have to worry about whether navy, brown or black will go together ;)

You can't really go wrong with a nice pair of black shoes though as in general they will go with most other colours. If you look at fashion shoots you will see that although a few years ago someone would never dream of wearing black with either brown or navy now it seems quite fashionable :p

Come on now! Brown shoes? That's a no. Brown shoes are never okay for the city; you may wear them in the country if you are wearing your tweed jacket and corduroy pants.

Oh and remember not to wear white socks with your suit. It's not the 1980's now.

Sartorially yours,
Kev.

PS track suits/shell suits/burberry are for those of a Ford persuasion.

I work in Italy. There the current fashion is Dark Suit, Tan / brown Shoes and Tan / brown Belt, no tie - so you can claim to be following Italian fashion - nobody will question that
