I have a 2004 E320CDI estate which has the benefit of the automatic passenger door mirror which adjusts as you engage reverse on the auto gearbox. This has stopped working although intermittenly adjusts the mirror whilst driving normally. Has anyone had the same problem and does anyone know a cure (short of de-selecting the option uing the computer). Thanks

Is the selector switch sat on the drivers mirror? if so that will stop the mirror dipping (or at least it does on the older E)

This function should be in the menu and activated. to set it you adjust and store in the seat memory, the same way as you store the seat settings.

A few cars do lose this function and it needs re programing

The selector switch is already set on the passenger side mirror. The function is in the menu and selected and worked fine up until recently when it stopped working properly and now randomly adjusts the mirror when drive is selected.
Regards
Gary

When the car goes in for service, ask them to re program it in, or an Indie

Hi there,
You can attemp to reset the reverse dipping urself.
With the ignition on (engine off ) and the selector in neutral, move the mirror to the parking posistion you desire, then move the selector to reverse for approx 10 seconds. Then select neutral again, this should program the mirror. The next time drive is selected the mirror will return to the driver memory setting after a 10-30 seconds, and dip to the set position in reverse.

Give it ago, it,s tricky and may take a few atttempts, but might save waiting!

Mine keeps losing it's memory too.
I have reset it plenty of times, but never tried this procedure  - Will try and report back ASAP.

Ellsy, that procedure doesn't work on my ML270.
I have the 'memory' functions - they work when set correctly for a few goes, but after that amnesia sets in!
