Hi guys, just joined the forum today.
I'm hoping someone can advise regarding my drivers door mirror
the problem is it's very slightly loose compared to the N/S one, and it doesn't fold, the mirror adjuster works perfectly but just doesn't fold in, the N/S mirror folds in but seems slow and makes a slight cracking type of noise when folding, is this a common problem? is it something i can fix myself, would appreciate the best and worse case scenarios,
oh one other thing regarding the mirror it makes a slight quick noise when i press the folding button so the fuse is ok

Hello Dave and welcome,,loads of mirror post today ?

remove the cover and take a look inside, also lubricate the moving joint with some PTFE (aerosol) If the motor runs, then the fault is a broken gear wheel, have you tried to move the mirror by hand, move it to see if it will lock into place

If there is a click coming from the mirror, at least nothing else is at fault

im going to strip it tomorrow and spary the PTFE (aerosol) on the moving bits, hope this fixes it, maybe its just sized because the working N/S one is slow and crokes like a bull frog.

PTFE will not hurt the paint or plastic
