drivers seat repair kit

does anyone know if there is such a thing?
did mercedes ever do one or does anybody else do one?
could be a gap in the market!

mercedes will sell you a new seat back cover which you have to either fit yourself or get them to do.

If you are lucky and drive an older car your dealer may just have one lying around that matches your car that they are willing to part with for a reasonable price - I think the list price for W124 seat covers is about £60 per section for the cloth seats so doing the whole drivers seat will cost you £120.

Another option is eBay, buy a passenger seat which get's less wear in Germany and get them to ship just the cover

Just for info, I was quoted a £161 + vat for just the drivers backrest cover and that's without fitting from my local dealer for a W124!!! I was told it may take up to two hours to fit as well.

I need to repair my driver's seat too- I think I may buy the seat cover when I can afford it from the dealer and get my indepedent mechanic to fit it- it doesn't look like much of a fun job.

Coachwork companies listed in the Back of ME will do this for about £50 for the usual wear on the drivers side...

Does that mean they will put a patch over the wear? Or replace the whole thing?

Just phoned Mercedes Hampstead (local dealer) and, for a 1993 black cloth interior they want £150 (£125+vat) for the backrest, plus fitting of course.

Fitting the cover will only take about half an hour,it all clips out and is not rocket science......
