Your Mercedes
S124 250TD (1989), S124 E300TD (1995), S211 E320 cdi Sport (2007)
I am new to this forum, but looking back at past posts, I noticed a number of owners have tried to rematch upholstry especially for drivers seats on older cars.  Has anybody had success, and if so where?  I have had, for 4 years, a 1989 W124 250 TD (7 seater) in excellent condition inside and out, except for the driver's seat which is fine in dry weather but appears to hydroscopically attract water on wet days making it look patchy and feel damp!   I have tried washing it with pure water assuming that some salts are in the material,  and tested several upholstry cleaners, with no success.  I am even now wondering about seeing if I can get the upholstry replaced because it is also worn on one edge.  It is one of those stripey beige/brown/cream cloth finishes which goes with a Smoke Silver exterior finish.  Has anyone found a truly effective cleaner that does not leave watermarks on pale seats and does anyone know of a good upholstry supplier/fitter not too far from North Wales?
Thanks
John
