Drivers side mirrors - heated or not? W126 380 SEC

Either im seeing things or my external side mirrors defrost as & when they want!!! I am unsure if they are 'heated' however, when i heat the rear windscreen the side mirrors defrost too on the one off occasion! Most recently they havent been doing so and ive been spraying de-icer on them!.

I have a 1982, W126 380 SEC.
