Drivers side wiper removal problem

Evening everyone

Sorry if wrong section

can't seem to remove the drivers side wiper to sort out a possible broken linkage. Seems like the bolt from the linkage is too big for the wiper hole. Can't pull it off and using a pry and tap from a hammer as suggested by YouTube doesn't work any more and I'm worried I'll snap or bend something. Pictures shows the issue I hope.

It's very close up, so I can't tell. But is the plastic cover still on? If not, then the arm appears to be cracked. It needs a remover on it (ball joint removers work well)

The arm looks to be already cracked so you'll need a new arm any way.

I struggled to remove the driver's wiper arm of my R Class even using a specific wiper arm puller but as Alex above suggests, I used a ball joint splitter/remover which worked perfectly. (the new arm IIRC was only around £35 from Merc)

Hi all it's just the plastic cover that's cracked the arm itself is fine and I have glued to crack back together. I'll borrow a friend's joint splitter and get back to you.
