'99 ML320. When I bought it a month ago I noticed at times it would stick going up.
Now today my wife came home with it stuck all the way down.
I hear a faint click when i try to raise or push the switch to lower.
It has a side airbag so I dont want to tear apart until I get advice. I can find no Haynes or Clymers on the M Series.
I have been reading that this is a common problem on owner feedback forum's (car review) , but owners don't say what it took to fix.

hi

Yes it is a very common fault it is normally the window switch, this is very easy to change but the switch is quite expensive

ML320 WINDOW FIX

a guy in my office that experienced the same thing ..It was his switch and speaking to the dealer makes me think 90 percent chance it is the window switch. I understand all the switches are on one board. I Ordered one for $50. Online. The Dealer said $120 install. 5 minute job if you know what you're doing. But I have never done one. I will update this to let M series owners know if it is fixed. AND how to install it, I hope.
July 18th Update. I fixed it. To Replace a window/mirror switch pad.
1) pry loose the trim piece around shift lever.
2) Move shift lever out of Park to gain working room.
3) Pry off the carbon fiber trim/frame piece and the control pod will come with it. 4 screws and 4 clips will remove switch.
I paid $50 for the "Superceded" new switch on line.
