It seems that I am going to replace every bulb on my SL500 !
Offside driving lamp is not working question is how do I get at it?
I presume through the wheel arch or underneath-there is a plastic undertray but I cant tell from my quick look if the tray is one piece ie around the whole arch as well. Any clues please?

Do you mean the front fog-lamps in the front spoiler. If so, they slide out from the front after you release a catch on the side.

Couldn't find that catch either.

What I did was put it up on ramp.
  1. Remove 2 plastic screws on each side (bottom of spoiler).
  2. Push plastic undertrays back a little and then let hang down.
  3. Remove plastic covers on back of lamp (turn anti-clockwise).
  4. Remove connector from bulb
  5. Release retaining spring for bulb
  6. Remove bulb
Reverse above proceedure for replacement
