DVLA - Excellent speedy service

I applied, on-line, to renew my driving licence on Wednesday 20th March.

I received the new licence on Saturday 23rd March. I do hope that this is typical.

Well done & thanks to the DVLA. :)

I did mine around last year and again it was very quick.

My mother who is over 70 has done it by post and again, done very quickly.

Oddly I had to do my passport back in October last year as it was expiring and I needed to travel in December, went online did all the bits it asked for and in under two week (even without paying the faster service charge) the new one was delivered to my door, very impressed. Similar experience with replacing my Drivers License a couple of years ago after moving home, think it was done in a week.

For all the moaning about how crap our government is, there are some services that we do a lot better than the rest of the world, my boss in the US asked if I was sure I would be able to travel before Christmas as planned when I said I needed to order a new passport, he’d had to do his families last year and said it was 12 weeks before they finally arrived

Grrrr…. All done online too and when I called up they advised it was with medical, transferred me and then it disconnected…. Perhaps adding the tenner wasn’t a good idea after all….:geek:

Could they just improve the NHS after the DVLA instead of asking for yet more money to waste.

The chair of NHS England berated the secretary of state for health for getting involved in the day-to-day running of the NHS

The Government needs to park its tanks on the NHS lawn it's populated by so many idiots in jobs and salaries they don't deserve.

And no it shouldn't be run by the Doctors, completely and utterly clueless about running anything, I know too many of them.
Having lived in the US, China, Sweden, Germany and NL to name a few.

Do you really appreciate what an amazing institute the NHS is.

Go to other countries, pay through the nose and get sweet fa.

I returned back to the UK 2 years back and using the Dr and Hospitals makes me PROUD of the NHS.

Far from it, my appreciation of the NHS and its principles is what drives me to despair when I experience the dreadful people who abuse it both from the inside and outside.

I pay heavily through my taxes for it and have a stake in it.

I know people at all levels and am sick of hearing of pass poor management waste and people who just shouldn't be working in it.

They are ruining my NHS.

There are quite a few bad apples and I expect a whole lot of them to think a change of government will give them a free run and a gravy train to ride on.
When you consider the no profit element and the attendant billing costs the NHS gets plenty of money.
