Hi All, i just checked my car and i have the following DTC code.

P2228

I used DTCsearch.com and it has this to say:

Generic
Number: P2228
Type: Powertrain - Fuel and Air Metering and Auxiliary Emission Controls - ISO/SAE Controlled
Description: Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Low

Can anyone offer some advice ?

Could this be the reason why im getting bad mpg? 35?

The sensor goes out of spec, cleaning could help a diesel car but replacement is the way to go

I think the meter on your car is class as a service part anyway so its needs replacing at some point the same way the air filter needs changing. I think MB charge about £68 for the sensor.

i cleared the fault the same day i created this thread expecting it to return the next time i took the car out, I have been driving it to and from work everyday since then and when checked today the fault is still gone. Ive noticed a large increase in mpg since clearing thr fault, about 15mpg!
