duff cigarette lighter.

I have a 97 C200 Elegance, and I want to use the lighter socket for mobile phone etc.

It does work if i press the lighter in, but only glows very faintly, and is just warm, not hot.

If I try a mobile, nothing happens at all.

Is it easy to replace, and how much are they?

I'm presuming getting one from a scrapper would be ok?

If the lighter pops out too soon,,by using a non metallic blade, bend the sides of the clasp part in slightly

Also check that the phone charger fuse has,nt blown, If there has been a loose conection there it may of caused an arc and blown the charger fuse.
