does anybody know know whats new in version 6 for the e class,ive read on the tinternet its got 3d mapping,like tomtom,i rang my local dealer and he said he didnt know

Strange as it may seem, the dealers don't get a lot of info on the latest products untill after they have already been launched & then it is very limited. An on the ball salesman will know more than anyone in the service department.

I have upgraded to version 6.0 recently and must say it is a major improvement in MAP detail over version 5.0 (well at least in my area - Albergaria-a-Velha - Portugal).

For me the update from 5.0 to 6.0 was in fact worth the investment (unlike the update from 4.0 to 5.0 where very little was updated).

But so far the only differences I can see are in the MAP detail and POIs.
Note: The NAV disk in the trunk does not update the headunit's software. For you to have 3D view you would have to update the headunit's software. Maybe there's a new headunit software disk that provides the 3D view. My headunit is still running SW version 9.390 15/2004 and I don't plan on upgrading it unless I have to. If you upgrade your headunit to version 15.130 51/2005 (or later) you might get new features (maybe 3D view ??) but you will lose access to the DrDIST, RegCode and Backd "hidden menus" and if you have access to multi region DVD's and "Video in motion" you will lose these features as well.
