E 320cdi Estate help please

Hi to all,
New member requires assistance
2001 e320 cdi from new 44,000
Smokes on initial start up for about 5 x mins
All glow plugs replaced
1 x injector replaced
Main dealer says cylinder 2 & 6 is low on compression
I cant see how this would rectify itself after 5 xmins as the car is perfect when its warm ???
Lost all faith in main dealer as it took two weeks to get to this
Desperate for a Mercedes diesel expert

Welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about your engine problems, sounds enfuriating. If the dealers comments are correct and you have a compression loss on two of the 6 cylinders this could cause smoking until the engine was up to operating temperature.

Probably worth getting another check done by a reputable independent. I would have thought that if engine oil is getting past the piston rings the engine would be consuming oil and top-ups would be necessary.

If the cylinder compression is OK then you will be looking at tests on the Turbo re seal leaks, intercooler for cracks, over fuelling by the ECU etc.

From a financial point of view better to start with basic checks and get some informed opinions hopefully from this forum. I'm sure that one or two diesel experts will contribute over the next few days.

Oil consumption is normal the smoke it seems is unburnt diesel
Does anyone know a really good Mercedes diesel independant expert/mechanic
