alarming! 1998 E230.210

Hi, mine started doing the same thing , but i had left a coat hanging on rear hanger. took it off all ok! it also dislikes coat laying on rear seat! i just push the disable interior sensor button on the dash (as if you have left a dog in side) and its fine .if you disconnect the horn and it goes off it will just flatten the battery very quietly! Hope that helps.

try pressing the interior motion sensors off when you lock the car, you could have a faulty sensor, or as rapide says, have you anything air fresheners or anything hanging???

alarming!

as we have said it appears you have a sensor playing up! just push the "disable enterior sensor " button on the dash and lock up while the light is flashing ,as per the hand book and you should be ok! I can sleep all night now no problem!

Hi, I thought about posting similar myself!!
Mine started doing exactly the same, first in Oct when the car was loaded for a holiday, went off around 9pm. All was fine, went off again a couple of months later, just the one night. Then again recently, unfortunately it wakes the neighbours instead of me! (activated and reset 6 times! I only heard the last one!)
I now lock the car everynight with the ultrasonics disabled and touch wood has been ok (don´t want to jinx it!)

Each time has been during the night, never during the day. It´s always locked in the day with the ultrasonics armed. Strange one.

Pete.

alarming in spain

Hi pete. as these cars get older it makes me wonder where we are going with them, computers / electrics etc, probably end up ripping it all out and using the key .converting to manual box.etc , actually i had a 190e just like that! food for thought! all the best.( oh and well done for escaping from gordon brown)

Hi.
Had the same problem with my 210 e300td. each and every night the alarm would go off at 3 to 3.30. I took off the internal sensor covers and put black electrical tape over the plastic lenses. they looked no different to normal when the covers were replaced and i got a good nights sleep. I did take everything out of the car and switched off the internal sensor switch but these made no difference.

The 210 is known to suffer from door pin switch issues. Normally it needs movement to trigger it - e.g. my doors used to unlock going round roundabouts but a slow current leak could maybe pop the interior light on after a few hours and as far as the alarm is concerned, you just opened the door.....

I believe that the alarm triggers are logged so you can see what it thinks happened. This would probably need a star diag machine though.

Mercedes w211 E220 CDI 2003 alarm keeps going off

Hi

If anyone can help. Basically, I have a 2003 W211 E220 CDI. The alarm is being activated when using the remote key for central locking. The alarm does not turn on when locking the door using the key.

Can anyone please help.
