E class 220cdi lights

Hi all i have just brought a e class 07 reg,is there any lights around the light swich,at night i only have the light swich lit up ,can any one help with this problem

Perfectly normal. They don't light up.
Just leave the switch on auto and forget it

thank for reply,just seems a backward step ,as my mondeo light panel lit up,rest of car is great
