Put the battery back on the car after charging, all ok apart from the central locking will not work unless the fob is right next the door handle. Suspecting low fob battery although was ok before I tried the spare still the same. Anyone got any ideas please.

Sounds like the RF part of the key has failed and it’s just using the IR signal to unlock.
There is a small coil in the key that can come lose on the board. Take the key apart and have a look.

Thanks for your reply, Have found that fuse 46 was open circuit , can only think due to inrush current on reconnection of the battery. All ok now thanks for your help. Just got the rear sub frame to replace now lol
