i want to buy a 7 seater e300 diesel what i would like to know is if i got a 5 seater could i convert it to a seven seater

Yes. Can get parts from a dealer or secondhand spares specialists. But simpler to buy a seven seater. There is another recent thread on this somewhere if you search.

Bear in mind that although it's a seven seater, the two in the boot are not for adults. Can only get kids in there with any reasonable comfort. More of a fun 'gimmick' for them really.

For short journeys an adult can fit. :)


Mine is a 7 seater - but the rear 2 have been screwed into place, so I'm pretty sure it was a retro fit. (As I understand it the factory fit rear seats should be removable?)

Make sure you fit the belts in properly though.

Thanks for the replies.
i realise its better to get a 7 seater in the first place and to be honest with you i only asked the question just in case i couldnt find a decent 7 seater but a decent 5 seater came up for sale.

The reason i want a seven seater is for mainly when i have to ferry the kids and friends about.
