The 6 speed manual box on my '97 E class estate has gone bang, and I need to replace it.

One problem is, I live in Spain, and the only boxes I can find are back in the U.K. ( Dunno why, but I can't get one here).

Before I send over my hard earned to buy a box and have it shipped back here, I need to be sure it's the correct one - naturally!

Can anyone advise me how to check the box will fit. Can it be done using the VIN, or is there another way.

I'd be really grateful for your help.

Cheers

Lee

Hi lee, there is a serial number and part number on the box,,your part number is on the box on a label,,it will be 417??? the next 3 numbers are critical depending on the engine fitted to your car
