E class gearbox

Sorry to post yet again on this topic, but I can't find the label with the gearbox number on it...do you know where it's located on the box by any chance? The only number I've found is a great big long one, which isn't the one I need.

OK I can confirm that what you need is a 717.417 box,, these are the only number that you need.


This box was used on the 210610,210.010 so only used on the 250 diesels

Malcolm,

There are some great advantages to living in Spain - none of them include either buying, selling or repairing cars!

The best quote I've had for re-building is in excess of 3,000 euros - over 2,000 for the bits alone!

I can't find a used box anywhere here either.

This in a country where there are more Mercs than you can shake a stick at.

Still, it's much cheaper to lose your licence here - I only pay 3.89 euros for a bottle of gin, so it ain't all bad!
