My 96 E class has a consent buzzing from somewhere in the dashboard. The buzzing starts as soon as turn the key and lasts for about 5 seconds after I remove the key. This has been going on for ages and I don?t have a clue what?s causing it. The only pointer I seem to have is I think it loudest from around the centre dash board. Any clues welcome.

buzzing

hi

best bet is in car temp sensor flow pump in the over head control unit (near the rear view mirror) this is very common, could also be module box cooling fan

Buzzzzz!!!!!

If you have any honey dripping in the footwell, I guess I'd know what it was:smile:

Or it could be the speedo cable.

Doesn't have a speedo cable, I agree that it is most likely the heater sensor pump at the interior lamp though.

Cheers for the advice.

I am going to try removing the fuses one by one until it stops.

I will post back my findings.

Well I checked the temp sensor (did not even know it existed) and it?s the little fan in it making the noise. Needless to say the fan no longer works. I'm going to order one tomorrow morning.

All this time and it was that  simple. Cheers for putting me in the right direction chaps much appreciated.
