E Class paint problems

I am considering an E Class estate. Probably a 2002/2003 model - last of the old shape.

I do however have a problem with rust on my 2001 C class which I would like any new E class to be free from. Do the last of these cars have the rust problem sorted or is it something I just have to live with - or save up for a new shape E?

there were improving by 2002 and any problems should be evident by now so give the car a good look over and ensure that the warranty is intact.
Sadly, if you want guaranteed rust free you need to be looking at late 04-
(the old man's 03 211 has had the rear arches done!)

Late 2003 on for the E Class. :-D That saved you 500 quid.

Will my repaint/rust cure work be carried out using this new material ?
In other words is it compatible with the old stuff?
