When my E320CDI was 13 months old I left it all alone at Gatwick airport for two weeks.  I know this was a lousy thing to do to a small child but I needed a holiday.  When I got back the rear brakes had seized and the result was that new discs and pads were needed.  Has anybody else had this problem?  Mercedes UK and Daimler Crysler AG. deny it is a problem.

E Class rear brake failure

This is a common fault on most cars if they are left with the handbrake on for a long period of time..usually though with a slight movement of the car, and a thump noise the brakes free themselves.

Mind you though, ive only ever had siezed brakes on a car with rear drums...not discs.

So to then dicsover that my 190 has drums and discs on the rear was a bit of a shock.
