Hi,
I'm new to this forum and 2 days ago i purchased my first Mercedes. I've got myself an E220 CDi 07 plate Avantgarde. My question is, I have a telephone Ariel fitted to the roof of the car as standard. Is there a phone kit inside the car in which i need to buy a cradle or something?

Did u buy from a MB dealer, i think you will have to check with whoever u purchased it from if it is fone prepped. some ppl remove the internals when they change cars and have then fitted to their new cars,

I got the car from Mercedes Benz Direct. I looked in the arm rest, theres no connectors or anything.

I also purschased a command unit only off someone. I obviously need the loom and a gps ant however, any other parts i need? Will it work with the dashboard display? Where can i get the loom from without spending $ from MB?

By the way, the phone ariel was factory fitted as its on the metal roof and not on the rear windscreen.

Hi & Welcome,

The Ae on the roof covers quite a few things one of which maybe telephone pre-wiring. Is your centre armrest split in the middle? if so then there should be a small black cover in there which the cradle clips in. I can recommend the bluetooth cradle.
When I bought mine last year I had the supplying dealer throw the cradle in as part of the deal. You can buy it from the online Mercedes Parts supplier here

That could be a nightmare depending upon how your car is prewired. I would recommend contacting comand as they now fit these to the E Class. They are/were also members on here and give discount to members of the forum :)

You need to speak to http://www.comandonline.co.uk but if you have an audio 20 cd unit then, unless facelift Es are different to pre-facelift ones, you are going to need an audio gateway. These are built into the audio20 but are separate in Audio50 and command head units. This plus loom can easily come to £500.
