Hi,
Picked up my new merc a few days ago and today i was parking up in my old car starring at the merc in the driveway. I noticed a gap under the tail light and went up close to take a look. I have relatively small hand yet i cud fit a finger in between the tail light and bumper from one side.

I called up my dealer and told them I wasnt happy.. he told me, its common on most E classes and CLS(s). Am i just being told a lot of *** or has this car had a rear knock?

Pls post up a picture as it doesn't sound correct.
You can see the panel gap on mine by clicking on the link in my signature.

Do you have email? I can send you some pictures I just took. I tried to push the bumper up to close the gap but the bumper is solid, theres no movement at all.

Well done, although I've just had to tip my monitor on its side....;-)

It looks to me as if it has had a very small bump on the rear end. The only thing with that is that the internals may well be a lot more damaged than the surface shows.

I would get it sorted out straight away, the salesman tried to fob you off IMHO.

Definately not right. Sling it back at the dealer and tell him to stop taking the michael.

Where the wing curves down at the side, it should continue perfectly onto the bumper. Yours has a 1/4" drop.
Also it should be the same on both sides - I assume yours isn't. Check for any damage but I guess it could simply be that it wasn't clipped on correctly and has dropped. Unusual though.
