hi I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue on the w212 facelift rear brake light where the led light does not light up but it doesn’t give a warning on the instrument cluster inside the car?

It’s only on the driver rear side that’s doing this the other one works fine any info would be much appreciated.

No idea, never get to see mine but now you have given me something else to worry about.

Cannot remember seeing any posts on this though.

As Robin, haven't heard this mentioned on here before. Also don't get to see mine so I'm going to look in a low shop window later!

Just a thought though, you might want to change the brake light switch fuse anyway - theoretically it shouldn't be that as your passenger side one is OK as I undesrstand but those are quite strange in Mercedes cars and cause all sorts of random issues...

The passenger side rear tail (on the bodywork and not the trunk lid) was flickering over Xmas and now has stopped working altogether. No warning messages on the dash. Looks a like visit to the MB doctor:(

Not too expensive if you buy a used unit.

But will the computer have to be programmed to accept the new lamp? There's some vids on YouTube showing replacing the failed lED in the unit itself, if you have a look

Check with dealer first - mine was £139inc. new

15-20minute DIY repair with no need for reprogramming/STAR in my case.

+1 for no programming for a rear light unit.
The way things are going, it must be one of the few things left that can be replaced without having the relevant module re programmed to accept it.

To be fair - the front ones require it. ;)
