The leccy mirror knob worked fine when I bought the car couple of weeks ago - until the wife turned it way too far and now it turns 360 freely and wont work!

can anyone tell me how to remove it for replacement.

Dashboard instrument panel illumination - the right hand side bulb has failed - anyone know how to get into the dash to replace it.

Lastly, the rear screen only clears about 2" of condensation at the top - has anyone got any tricks to get it repaired, failing that I may claim on the windscreen insurance for a new rear screen.

cheers

Cluster removal.

Re. cluster removal, this may help - http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/W124InstCluster Alternatively, a lot of people just remove the lower dash panel, reach up and push it out but I haven't done this personally.
Someone else will have to help with the rest I'm afraid.

You can get small bottles of metallic paint to repair the rear window elements. It's tricky to do it neatly, but I had good results with this before. Most spares shops do it for around £8-10

Mirror switch - removal.

To remove the electrical mirror switch you will require to lift out the horizontal panel of the centre console. Pull back the front of the mat in the central oddments tray (it's just 'friction' fitted) and remove the s/t screw securing the panel, then lift upwards to unhook it from the front section just under the ashtray. Maneouvre it up over the gear lever, disconnect the wiring from the switches and you're there. How to remove the switch from the panel should be self-evident at that stage.
I'd also recommend you disconnect the neg. battery lead first.

thanks tom - jberks.

one thing to mention - my w124 has twin airbags so no glove box - it doesnt have a mat in the oddments tray, instead it had a raised storage compartment with a walnut effect roller shutter door.

I'll give it a go - thanks for your help.
