I have an 3 class 270 2003 reg. Today it has lost all power and will not accelarate over 40 mph. There is also black smoke blowing from under the drivers door when i accelerate. Any thoughts, advice etc appreciated

Welcome to the forum, I would think that a new MAF filter would solve it, get one from bosch, much cheaper than MB

Doesnt sound good, any warning lights, is the engine still free reving or does it feel choked?
Could be a collapsed CAT, have you looked underneath to see where the black smoke is coming from. You havent miss fueled either I assume.

Well diagnosed jib ! At least it should be a simple (if expensive) repair.
